BISHOP IRETON POWERS BY ACADEMY OF THE HOLY CROSS

Article |

1/3/25 – If you heard that Academy of the Holy Cross lost a game by 60 points, you might think they are probably a weak team. You would be wrong. Bishop Ireton blew past Academy of Holy Cross 93-33 because Bishop Ireton, the third ranked team in Virginia according to Maxpreps, is loaded. They have stars and all of their non-stars can play.

Using a man-to-man full court defense and a fast breaking offense, Bishop Ireton overwhelmed a respectable Holy Cross team (6-6) and led at halftime 52-15. Seniors Theresa Hagans (19 points - University of Pittsburgh commit), Amirah Anderson (17 points - Boston College commit) and Nyla Brooks (17 points - North Carolina commit) led the way for Bishop Ireton. Also chipping in was freshman Kamiera Willis (9 points), senior Kayla Washington (8 points - Longwood University commit) and sophomore Londyn Ferguson (8 points). Kinsley Beckham had 10 points for Holy Cross.

Bishop Ireton moves to 8-1, with its only blemish on its record being a six point loss to perennial power, Long Island Lutheran, the number one ranked team in New York.
