HAYFIELD EASILY HANDLES JOHN R. LEWIS HIGH SCHOOL

12/19/24 -Hayfield Head Coach Jason Kirby did something that is not seen very often in this cold world – he showed mercy. After using a full court press in the first few minutes of the game, Coach Kirby quickly realized that his team was going to easily win. So at 4:45 of the first quarter, he pulled all of his starters and put in his reserves. It was that way all night as Hayfield sailed passed John Lewis 70-15.

Besides working on their full court press, Hayfield often looked to pass to their two main post players, 6’0’’ Rylee Spinner and 6’1” Ziyana Williams, for some easy baskets. Spinner was the game’s high scorer with 13 points. The leader of Hayfield, point guard Alexis Cox, did not have to do much leading tonight but she still poured in 10 points while playing limited minutes.
