West Potomac Tops Woodgrove High School

12/27/24 — Once again, Jill Humphreys established herself as the best sixth man in Northern Virginia. Upon entering the game for West Potomac High School, Humphreys got to work and scored 5 quick points and ended the quarter with a beautiful assist to Skylar Strother to put her team ahead 17-9. West Potomac was ahead at halftime 35-21, with sophomore Lina Hashimi collecting 12 points in the half.

The game remained close throughout the second half — Woodgrove made several runs in the fourth quarter but were thwarted by West Potomac sharpshooter Abigail Beddis, who had two 3-pointers in the quarter.

West Potomac’s Dawn Houston, who was held scoreless in the first half, scored 10 points in the second half.West Potomac was led by Beddis who ended up with 14 points, Humphreys with 13 points and Hashimi with 12 points. Woodgrove’s Valerie Blankenship kept the game close and finished with 20 points.
