12/27/25 – Kathryn Wagener had 17 points and the Jungman sisters combined for 26 points as the Washington-Liberty Generals defeated Battlefield High School on the opening day of the Cougar Holiday Classic at Oakton High School.

Washington-Liberty appeared in control early, jumping out to an 18-8 lead by the end of the first quarter. The General’s quick start suggested a comfortable victory, but Battlefield battled back to keep it competitive.

Battlefield rallied in the third quarter and cut the deficit to just three points, 42-39, with one minute to go in the period. With the game tightening, Wagener drained a momentum-shifting three-pointer, igniting a decisive 13-0 Washington-Liberty run that effectively put the game out of reach.

In addition to Wagener, Senior Eve Jungman finished with 12 points and her younger sister, sophomore Anna Jungman, contributed 14 points. Camille Marston added eight points for the Generals.

Battlefield was led by junior Madison Huynh, who scored 13 points. Freshman starters Kennedy Dempsey and Grace Murray had strong games and put in 13 and nine points, respectively.
