OSBOURN PARK EASILY GETS BY FREEDOM HIGH SCHOOL

1/14/25 – The Osbourn Park High School Yellow Jackets, ranked the fourth best team in Virginia according to MaxPreps, easily defeated the Freedom High School Eagles, 54-19.

Despite being physically outmatched, Freedom was able to remain close in the first half by perfectly executing two out-of-bounds plays and efficiently running its offense consisting of continuous picks and back-door cuts. But led by Osbourn Park’s Key Rainey, who had 12 points in the first half, Osbourn led at halftime 24-14.

Osbourn came out in the second half with a full court press which blew the game open. The Eagles committed multiple turnovers and only scored 2 points in the quarter. Osbourn, which scored 19 points in the quarter, took a commanding 27 point lead going into the fourth quarter.

Sophomore Payton Walters chipped in 18 points for Osbourn Park and Rainey added 14 points. Kai Jones, Jayel West and Jane Salinas each ended up with 6 points for the Yellow Jackets and Julia Matthews had 4 points. Freedom junior guard Allison Lisack had 10 points.
