1/13/25 – In a tightly contested game, the James W. Robinson Secondary School Rams topped the South County High School Stalions, 48-41. Robinson was led by Madison Coutinho, 18 points; Georgia Simonsen, 11 points; and freshman London Augustin, 10 points. South County was led by Laila Tull, 23 points and Savannah Simmons, 8 points.

Robinson’s Simonsen picked up two quick fouls in the first two minutes of the game and did not return until the score was tied 16-16 with three minutes to go in the second quarter. Upon returning to the game, Simonsen scored six quick points to help her team take a 22-19 halftime lead.

South County’s Tull had a monster third quarter scoring 11 points while making three 3-pointers. Robinson’s Coutinho, who had a slow first half, came to life in the third quarter scoring six points and making numerous steals.

The fourth quarter was all Simonsen. Although she only had four points in the final quarter, she made two long outlet passes off of two rebounds that led to baskets. She also blocked a shot which led to another basket. Coutinho was the beneficiary of these plays and made three difficult contested layups, giving the Rams the edge in the final 90 seconds.
