WEST POTOMAC BLOWS PAST STONE BRIDGE
December 17, 2024 — After a tight first half, West Potomac High School outscored Stone Bridge High School by 14 points in the third quarter, defeating Stone Bridge 70-42.
To open up the third quarter, Dawn Houston hit two 3-pointers for West Potomac within a one-minute span to start a rally.
Contributing to West Potomac’s third quarter rally, Jill Humphreys scored 8 points and Olivia Jones and Abigail Beddis had 6 and 5 points, respectively. Houston finished as the game’s high scorer with 18 points. Also scoring for West Potomac were Jones, 15 points; Beddis, 16 points; and Humphreys, 10 points.
West Potomac, 6-0, is ranked as the second best team in Virginia, according to MaxPreps. Although not the tallest team in the area, they make up for this deficiency with their shooting and passing. They also always look to run the floor and do an excellent job of finding open teammates.
